Mānuka leaf (leptospermum scoparium): This tiny leaf contains wellness properties that can be used in a variety of applications. It makes an excellent herbal tea and can be used to produce infusions and extracts thus retaining its health properties within. It pairs well with other botanicals and herbs.
Appearance: Dried mānuka leaf is long lasting, it has a spiky and hard outer shell. Mānuka leaf also retains its natural green colours exceptionally well. The aroma of dried mānuka leaf is described as herbaceous and fresh.
Flavour profile: The flavour of mānuka leaf in herbal tea varies. This is dependant on the specific strain of mānuka and the quality of it. Native Tree Farm™ strain is cultivated especially for its wellness properties and its wonderful, delicate and soothing flavour, making it an excellent choice for food, beverage and health focused applications.
Certified organic ingredient: We are a certified organic grower and producer of dried mānuka leaf, we are internationally certified which means we can supply countries around the world with a superior organic certified, traceable ingredient.
Mānuka leaf is special: The mānuka tree has always been a valued plant in New Zealand amongst Māori. It is known culturally and historically as a healing plant, it was used to heal the land and the people.
The difference between mānuka honey and mānuka leaf: The word mānuka is commonly known around the world from its association with mānuka honey which comes from the bees and their relationship with the mānuka tree. Mānuka leaf is different in that it is a main part of the tree that contains the undiluted beneficial nutrients of the plant itself. It is a vegan product that has no association with the bees.
The benefits of mānuka leaf: Mānuka leaf from Native Tree Farm™ is high in antioxidants, contains calming flavonoids, vitamins, free amino acids, a portion of the amazing essential oil within the dried leaf, catechin's, calcium and antiviral properties.
